Pet Peeves About Halloween Pet Costumes

We all have a soft spot for dressing up our pooches, don't we?
It's the only time of year that when we get caught doing it, it's actually socially acceptable to do so. That said, you should know that there's a right way and a wrong way to suit up your mut.
Let's get started. Here are my top two grievences about pet halloween costomes and how you can have your pet's best interests at heart this Halloween.
Do Not Put A Heavy Cape, Velcro Contraption, or Suite on your Dog
You might see a dominant dog at the park sniff the nose of ol' Bruno, and then abruptly raise its hand on his shoulder. The offending dog is actually dominating Bruno and saying, " Hey, you're my property Pal!" If you were Bruno, would you appreciate this? I don't think so.
Anything that can resemble being dominated is like reliving a painful experience over and over again! (read that out of a dog training book)
It's a reality in the dog world but you don't need to be doing that to your own dog unless he or she did a bad thing.
Tip:
Try something that straps around the waste and doesn't put pressure on the kneck or back.
Do Not Put on A Costume That Makes Dog Immoble or Site Impaired
Any dog that has movement or site impairment will have a lot of stress. A dog with a high stress level may be prone to biting your halloween guests or leaving you stinky and unwanted presents on your carpet...
Tip:
Think about ways that you can purchase a pre-made pet costume at the store but make it lighter or less rediculous for the poor guy to wear.
What I recommend
Take a special vest or sweater that he or she wears on a regular basis and make it into a fun project of adding freaky or funny accessories to it. That way the pup won't know the difference but you and your friends will get a kick out of it!
