Dropped My Phone...

I dropped my cell phone down on the ground. This was about two weeks ago. I’ve been scraping by on pay phones and strangers kindness since then. I spotted it in the back corner of the saloon near a pair of well dressed school children and decided to sidle over and grab my Jitterbug. They seemed to be talking about a sporting event that they’d had at the the school.

Tied Tie: It was really too close to call. I couldn’t call it. I wouldn’t call it. I can’t call it.

Untied Tie: I wish you’d taken my father up on those box seats. You and your pride.

Tied Tie: It wasn’t pride- I just couldn’t have made it in time. You know I had that date. With Destiny.

Untied Tie:  Destiny Fairweather? That super tall girl? She is unreasonably tall.

Tied Tie: That isn’t fair. Reason and height have nothing to do with each other. She was blessed with great jeans and legs to match.

Untied Tie: Speaking of, where does she buy those pants? Does she make them herself? Do they cost extra because they;re so long.

Tied Tie: No, she goes to a specialty store a few counties over. They specialize in clothes for stilt performers.

Untied Tie: That reminds me, my dad can get us sweet seats to cirque du soleil.

Tied Tie: Can Destiny come?

Untied Tie: No.

I grabbed my faithful flip phone and walked back over to the bar. I gotta look up that stilt pant store…

"The neighborhood UTAH bar where everyone knows your name."
